With 19 workstations encompassing 20,000 square feet, Fosbinder
Fabrication, Inc. is able to complete work orders of superior quality and
craftsmanship in a timely manner.
Currently, the shop floor has four departments and approximately
20 employees. It is comprised of the Vertical Machine Centers, the Horizontal
Machine Centers, the Turning Centers and the Custom Tool Shop. Each of these
work centers reports to the shop foreman who works with Quality Control to
make sure our products are of the highest quality before they leave the shop
floor. After passing final inspection in Quality Control, the product is
released to the Shipping/Receiving Department for disbursement.
Fosbinder Fabrication Inc.'s skilled
craftsmen are encouraged to apprentice in other areas in the shop, to the
benefit of the employee, the corporation and the customer.
QUALITY CONTROL &
Fosbinder Fabrication, Inc.'s calibration/certificationprogram provides a controlled system of
recall and data collection for control of measurement standards. Test
equipment is periodically certified against standards directly traceable to
the National Bureau of Standards. Secondary standards are calibrated against
primary standards at intervals. Measurement and test equipment historical
data is utilized to adjust calibration intervals and to provide objective
evidence of calibration. Fosbinder Fabrication,
Inc. measurement program complies with the requirements of ANSI/NCSL
Z540-1-1994, Calibration Laboratories and Measuring and Test Equipment
Inspectors continually inspect the product throughout the
production process to see to it that production remains within compliance.
Fosbinder Fabrication, Inc.'s Quality Control
program ensures purchased materials and products are inspected upon receipt
to verify customer compliance with drawings and specifications. A permanent historical
document of this inspection operation is created and kept. The implemented
Quality Control program provides for inspection and testing of completed
items throughout the production process. Problems encountered during
production testing are coordinated by Quality Control and management to
establish corrective action affectivity. The Quality Control system provides
that when any material is found to depart from specification or drawing
requirements and the material cannot be made to conform by reprocessing
through an operation or by completion of an omitted operation, the item will
be withheld for review by management. The discrepant material is diverted to
a material review bond area, to prevent unauthorized use.
